Amethyst

'The Stone of Tranquillity' & 'The All Purpose Stone'

Amethyst has captivated people for thousands of years with its beautiful purple hues, ranging from delicate lilac to deep violet. Its name comes from the ancient Greek word 'amethystos', meaning 'not intoxicated'. The Greeks believed that amethyst could protect its wearer from drunkenness and help maintain a clear, balanced mind. They would add amethyst crystals to their wine goblets in an attempt to keep them from getting wasted. In modern days, amethyst is often seen as a symbol of wisdom, spiritual growth, and inner strength. 

Amethyst can have internal inclusions (such as colour zoning, mineral needles, negative crystals and/or feather-shaped structures), but most high-quality gemstones are usually eye-clean.
