'The Gemstone of Many Colours'

The name tourmaline is believed to come from the Sinhalese word 'turmali', referring to mixed or multicoloured stones. Tourmaline is admired for its extraordinary variety of colours, appearing in vivid pink, red, green, blue, yellow, orange, purple, brown, black and even bi-colour or multicoloured combinations. The much-loved watermelon tourmaline, with its pink centre and green outer layer, is one of the gemstone’s most distinctive varieties.
